This sketch was drawn on Day 133 after Myanmar military seized control of Myanmar, ousting the democratically elected government.  To honor the courage of the pro-democratic resistance movement, artist Ohn Mar Win has been drawing every single day since the coup happened on the 1st of Feb 2021. The collection now adds up to over 180 salutes and each salute represents an individual day representing crucial events that have happened since.

Ohn Mar is a Burmese born (U.K. based) illustrator, sketchbook artist and teacher, best known for food illustrations. Ohn Mar’s 25 watercolour sketchbooks document her creative journey and inspired over 20 online classes. Her mission statement is: I use my creativity and intuition to support and inspire myself, and then help others do the same.
